Noa Devine (he/him)

Noa is a transmasculine Brooklyn based writer-director. He received his BA in English Literature with a minor in Mass Communications & Design from Misericordia University, and is set to earn his MFA in Cinema Arts with a concentration in Directing from Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema in Spring of 2026. He is concerned with naturalistic aesthetics manifested in innovative ways. Much of his academic writing focused on the works of classic American writer, Ernest Hemingway, which provided Noa with the opportunity to travel to Paris, France in order to present his work at the American University of Paris and at Sorbonne University.

Noa was also an active participant in theatre production throughout his undergraduate career with experience in: Directing, set construction & dressing, sound & lighting design, and production management. Pivoting to film was a natural next step in his academic and professional life.

Noa believes that to be outwardly transgender or queer in the United States today is as foundational to living by American values as it is foundational to resisting American conservative & patriarchal conditions. Due to this belief, he chooses to tells stories largely framed through a modern, nonliteral hyper-Americana lens. He focuses specifically on depicting authentic expressions of the lives and experiences of transgender and queer individuals in his work.

His most recent project, SUNGROWN, is a proof-of-concept short film co-written by Noa Devine and Daisy Rosato. The piece centers a transgender girl who runs away from an abusive home with her little brother, only to find herself working on an illegal pot farm to make end’s meet. SUNGROWN is currently in post-production.
